On Tuesday, October 30, three students and I visited the Honeybee Center in Surrey. Although many of the hives had been removed there were still a few inactive bees under the viewing flaps. We had quite a discussion about how useful bees are and we saw many different kinds of honey! There were honeycombs, a wasp nest, a fish pond and an insect viewing area. We enjoyed visiting the center and look forward to revisiting in the spring. Although one of our students was not able to attend, we missed him and brought him a gift of honey from the center.
